Onyx Boox Page bricked, can only access edl
I didn't know about taking the emmc image before messing with stuff and have managed to brick my Page trying to apply an update. I can get into 9008 mode using the test pins and the loader is working fine. I can print the gpt table still, just not sure what to do about getting back to recovery or fastboot.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks. |

You can get into recovery by going to EDL mode, loading the loader, then writing a misc that will take you to recovery, then rebooting.
Rename the silly file misc-recovery.img so you don't get confused. Code:
edl /w /pmisc misc-recovery.img /z |

Progress!
It's definitely alive again, here's what all has happened I flashed the misc-recovery.img but using /z didn't bring me directly to recovery, so to finally get there I had to hold the power button a bit when the led lit up again and press the power button a repeatedly to eventually make it in. I managed to make it into recovery and sideload the firmware, then using recovery I rebooted to system successfully, but I don't think using the power button normally is letting me boot properly to system, it just stays stuck on the onyx logo unless I do the same trick I used to get to recovery initially. If I use adb reboot I also have to do the trick with the power button. Thanks again for the help, was really worried this thing was just going to be a paperweight |

Something I just noticed, it only stays booted to system or recovery when the usb cable is connected. It does detect the battery level fine. If the usb cable is disconnected it stays powered on for a few moments and then shuts off and it refuses to show anything except the onyx logo until the usb cable is connected again.

Sounds like the battery is dead.

It says it's at 100% at the top right and the battery status in the power section shows full

If removing USB makes it die within seconds you might have the voltage but not the current.

Are there any other issues that could cause this? The battery did not have this issue prior to me messing up the update and the led stays turned on even though the rest of the device doesn't. I left the led on overnight and the os now reports 45% battery instead of a full battery.

You can use my UsbMode.apk (in my sig). That shows battery voltage. Pull the USB and see how fast it drops.

This is what it shows when it's plugged in to my computers usb port
![]() This is what it shows once disconnected from usb ![]() The battery voltage stays stable at 3.839 V until the device powers off. After it powers off, the blue led turns back on but the screen and everything else remains off. |

One Ampere is a heck of a lot of current going out. Something is grinding this down.
Code:
adb shell top |

It looks like it's all idle.
Try to watch it die. Code:
adb logcat Code:
adb shell su dmesg -w |
