where is code for pocket book ereader running android?
The new pocketbook colour e-reader runs Android, so they must release the parts of the code that are under open source agreement. Or are they like Onyx Boox, which doesn't release and violates the GPL agreement?

What make you think they link with libraries under GPL license? By the way, are libraries under GPL license that popular in the Android/Java world?

check this info
"The majority of the Android platform and documentation is licensed under the Apache 2.0 license. While the project strives to adhere to the preferred license, there may be exceptions, such as for documentation (code comments) extracted from a source code module that is licensed under GPLv2 or other license. "
stated in the android license page https://source.android.com/license#:...ther%20license. All code under the GPL must be released. They have not done that. This same thing happen with onyx check the link below. https://www.reddit.com/r/Onyx_Boox/c...etter_company/ All other companies like remarkable, kindle and the most popular custom ROMS also do it. Check out the reddit thread. Then why not pocketbook? |

You are under some misconceptions about the GPL. It does not require the immediate public release of code. You should read the GPL itself, as well as the FSF FAQ and appropriate topics. There are quite a few that are relevant, but the main point is that unless you actually buy the device from Pocketbook you are not eligible to demand a copy of their GPL licensed source code that was used on that device.

Contact their customer support and ask if they will provide you with the code if you buy a device.
