Crash loop after update
I checked for an update to KOReader and thought the instal was going fine, but then the "crash bomb" appeared on screen and touching the screen booted back into Nickel. Attempting to start KOReader triggers the same crash-reboot loop. I'm attaching the crash log in case it helps. Will I have to reinstall KOReader from scratch?

Known issue with latest nightly for all platforms.

Yes.

That involves grabbing the latest release (v2023.06.1) from github and uncompress the koreader dir on top of the previous install for most platforms. For android just uninstall the apk and install the old one.

Bleeding edge users are most valuable users. Always.

If the process is a PITA for you I would suggest to avoid nightlies at least for a couple of days. A lot of under the hood changes are going on...

Happy to be of service I had already decided not to update my Libra H20.

The process was not too much of a PITA - I had my gestures and reader settings backed uyp, so after the 'reinstall' copied them over and all is well. No updates for either of my devices for a week or so, I think. Thank you for your help

Happy to help!

Backups are great and always recommended to do but in this case it wasn't necessary to restore . User settings don't belong to app files so they are never overridden.

One thing that I found interesting - my gestures settings included several double tap gestures. double tap was greyed out and although I unchecked "disable double tap" and restarted KoReader, double tap stayed greyed out, with "disable double tap" showing as unchecked, until I powered the device off and rebooted it.
