KOBO DESKTOP UPDATE LOOP

So today I logged into Kobo to update the Desktop software and noticed that it just looped over and over. Did a manual download and started the software and you guessed it... another loop to download and install the the same software over and over version 3.01

Any ideas?

unistall, reboot (optional), re-install. Worked for myself and others who have had this recent problem.

Perhaps before you do that you can try this so that Kobo can hopefully pin this problem down and get it fixed:

With the Kobo Desktop active
Windows:
Ctrl-Shift-I

Mac:
Command-Shift-I

For each of the steps above, it will generate a file called kobo-logfile.txt on your OS desktop.

Ok rebooting now. I uninstalled it so Ill see what happens.

Hey Danger! it worked. Prehaps Kobo should put an uninstall command in their install first just to remove any lingering traces of the previous program.
