The View menu has a list of recently viewed books.

a) How is this generated? I noticed the 'view' action, clicking a format in details, and opening a format in the MDE all add it to the list. Are there any other actions that do this?

b) Is there a way to change the number of books shown on the list? I looked through tweaks but wasn't sure of what it would be called.

Look at source calibre.gui2/actions/view.py. The history is updated by viewing a book or by clearing history. Search for "update_history".

The history is stored in a per-library preference named "gui_view_history". You can search the source for that string to see where it might be updated.

Search in tweaks for "history".

Is there a way to edit/delete a book in the recently viewed list?

If I read a book, its listed, (OK)
If I remove that book from my library, and try to view it using this list, I get an error message (~cant view it, not in library) AND Calibre removes it from the list. (OK)

I would like to be able to remove a book from the list after I finish reading it. (???)
I do already have a Read? (Y/N) column in my library.

Is there a convenient location or file where the books are listed? That I can then edit to drop a book from the recently viewed list?
