List of recently read books
Does any e-reader provide a list of recently read books? I usually am reading a few books at the same time and, in order to open the next one I want to read I have to remember (on my Kindle) what Collection it is in, in addition to having to remember the title. It would be really nice if there were a list of recently read books so I could just touch the one I want and open it where I left off instantly. I'm not sure if the Filipino customer service person at Amazon really understood this question, but he said that the feature isn't included in any Kindle device. I don't see this feature discussed on any other site about e-readers either. Thanks for any info.

On the Kobo readers, when you open the library > Books, you have the option of showing books sorted on All, Reading, Unread and Finished. You can check the Reading option to view all books you are currently reading. This can be further drilled down by choosing - Sort > Recent, Title, Author, File size and File type.
I think this could help you. As I'm not in Kindle camp, I may not be able to suggest anything about Kindles. ![]() |

On the Kindle you can view the books in the order they were recently opened. You could also use the search function to find the book so you don't need to go through collections.

In addition, the handful of books you have had open most recently will remain as tiles on the home screen, unless you push them off by doing other things (managing collections, using browser etc - the tile display is dynamic). If other tiles do pop up, you can dismiss them and your several most recently opened books wil reappear.

I usually have a 'currently reading' collection/tag/folder (depending on the reader) so that I don't have to hunt up the books I'm reading. I add/tag the books as I start reading them and remove them from the grouping when I'm finished. As kindle books can be in multiple collections this could be a solution for you.
My main problem is forgetting about what I was reading on some other reader/browser/app/bedside table.... |
