Amazon account email issue

Is there a way to combine two email accounts at Amazon? I was trying to change my email (Email A) at Amazon U.S. on the website, but get a message that there's another account with the email I want to use (Email B), and if I switch to Email B, that existing account will be disabled.

I've used Email B with UK and Canada Audible and/or Amazon, and it doesn't make sense to me that I will lose access to those accounts simply because I want to change to Email B at Amazon U.S. Customer service can't seem to figure it out, and my call kept getting redirected until I finally gave up.

Any ideas on the best way to proceed? Or should I just resign myself to losing access to the UK and Canada accounts? Thanks.

It's not a solution, but could you change the email address at the off-shore Audible accounts first? At least you'd still have access to them and you could use the preferred email for your main account.

And... if it's a gmail account, why not throw a period into one of the emails? You'd still have to sign in with it with the period, but at least all relevant emails would show up in the same account.

Thanks; I decided to simply go ahead and change the address and risk having the other account disabled, after ensuring that any digital content was backed up. It turns out that I was angsting over nothing, because the other account was NOT disabled. However, it needs its own password. CS could have saved me a lot of trouble if I'd known that!

The upside is that I discovered that I've been a nonmember at Audible UK and Audible Canada long enough to qualify for free trial offers again. Yay!
