Battery goes flat quickly after using Calibre
I have a Kobo Libre 2 and I use Calibre to add books to it.
The last few times I have added new books, my Libre 2 battery has gone flat within 24 hours of adding the new books. If I turn it off and on again (reboot it) it seems to return to it's normal state of good battery life. I have updated Calibre and the Kobo firmware is on 4.31 from January (and it doesn't see any newer updates when I try). Also, in case it makes a difference I am running Linux Mint (latest) on my computer that is running Calbre. |

A battery issue after adding books frequently means a problem with one of the books added. This can cause the import process to hang or leave something running that is using CPU and hence battery. Restarting the device will mean that process was killed or restarted. Finding the issue in the book an fixing it will solve the problem.
Though, with 4.31 there are other issues with connecting to a PC that might contribute to this. I don't remember if anyone reported this as a problem, but, the other issues might have hidden it. Updating to 4.32 is the best thing to do. From what I can see, this should be available as the update everywhere except maybe in Japan. |

As for 4.32 I must report that I am definitely not getting that update here in Australia unfortunately. I will look forward to it... |

It should be available to you. From my checks, it is only the RakutenBooks affiliate that is not getting it. What affiliate does the device have? This is in the file "affiliate.conf" in the ".kobo" directory.

affiliate=RakutenBooks What does this mean? This is a real device purchased from Kobo Australia. |

I have read a little more. Maybe I should wait, or should I install the new firmware manually?

As to updating, you can do it manually or change the affiliate to something else. Using "Kobo" should get the update. |

Update. Changed affiliate to Kobo, and the update duly installed itself.
