Opinion wanted concerning KOReader
I have a Libra H2O and have considered putting KOreader on it. I was curious what others thought about it, what do I can/what do I lose?

You lose absolutely nothing by trying it (and/or Plato) out, which will likely be much more helpful than anything anyone might have to say about them
![]() (By which I mean, if you have specific questions *after* having tried it, that'll be much more relevant and helpful to your own experience than simply blathering randomly about it beforehand). Last edited by NiLuJe; 11-11-2020 at 01:45 PM. |

I would agree with @NiLuJe that you have nothing to lose by trying KOReader or Plato. I've tried both and they wasn't my cup of tea as pretty much all my ebooks are in epub format and render well as epub or kepub using the factory firmware.
So give them a try. Check the One-Click Install Packages for KOReader & Plato thread for a packaged installer for KFMON and NickelMenu plus KOReader and/or Plato. |

Its great if you have large libraries. I find it much easier to organize by folders which koreader allows you to do.
OPDS support is also awesome if you dont have much memory on the device, can run ubooquity server localy or access some online libraries. Worth a try. |

So, tried it. Used the "single click" install of KOReader/Plato. Not sure it really is for me but will see.
Meanwhile, issue I now have 122 files appearing in "my books" that I guess are various scripts (ex. align-center, align-left, etc). Makes it hard to see actual books. Did I do something wrong? How can I get rid of them? |

It also probably wiped key parts of KOReader in the process ^^. c.f. https://github.com/koreader/koreader...ment-535697583

![]() So how to remove KOReader/Plato that was installed with the "One Click" install process is the question now. |

Final update. I removed/cleaned up my installation. Then I installed again being careful to follow the directions properly this time, particularly:
NOTE: Another thing that bears repeating is that on FW >= 4.17, you'll probably also want to prevent Nickel from scanning *nix hidden folders. And you'll want to tweak your config before unplugging your device (i.e., before installing this; or, if you've just upgraded your FW, during the first USB connection after the update). And it works again, only the 3 PNG show up as books with unknown authors. They are the icon files for KFMon, KOReader and plato. |

And those three icons are needed for KFMON to launch the applications or display the log file. |
