deleting books ...

OK I made the purchase and my new InkPad X just arrived...
It's a wonder how thin and lightweight it seems compared to my old Kindle DX - I just hope it's not too fragile.

A question: I read in a couple of threads that there's a danger of bricking the device when deleting pre-loaded books.
But those threads are both rather old, so I dont know if the problem is still present.
I also read that the problem may be avoided when deleting the books by calibre...

any info appreciated!

I have the Touch, I think. I deleted whatever books were preloaded on it without any problems.

Don't be scared. That was only with devices which had their system on an internal MicroSD instead of soldered memory. Most of the newer devices have soldered memory. And it happened after some years, I'm not aware of that it ever happened during the warranty period of 2 years (in my country).
