Stets zuverlässige und vor allem vollständige Übersetzungen der Werke von Walter Scott brachte seit Mitte des 19. Jh. die Stuttgarter Hoffmann’sche Verlags-Buchhandlung, so auch 1851 "Der Alterthümler" (1816, insg. 620 Seiten). Er ist der dritte der "Waverly"-Romane; Informationen (auf englisch) findet ihr an dieser Stelle.
