Search results and clipboard.
Hi
The Calibre Editor provides the result of each regex. It even offers the possibility to send a detailed copy to the clipboard if the user asks for it with a simple click. (see screenshot) Would it be possible to go just a little bit further? If you give the user the power to enable -and disable- automatically the option "copy to the clipboard", (a kind of ON/OFF button) it would then be possible to load automatically when needed the clipboard with the individual results of a group of saved searches. This would be give us more confidence to use the saved group searches feature as we would be able to check at a glance the individual results of any regex. |

Hi
It seems that the situation on the Calibre 3.0 front is now stabilized. ![]() I don't know if my proposal was or wasn't realistic. The idea behind it was to be able to keep track of the results of any individual regex in a cumulative way (for example after a group search and replace). |

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking for? When you run "Count all" witha group of saved searches, you get a single popup at the end with the total number of matches. So how would enableing/disabling the copy button help?

I have no idea about the inner workings of the commands so forgive my heretic views.
![]() Up to now, as shown in the attachment, for every saved search a numeric result is displayed and it's even possible to upload its result to the clipboard. I presume that when we perform a group of saved searches, the individual results of each regex must be stored somewhere in memory. There are two possible working ways - either once all the regexes of the group have been played, the computer adds all these individual results and display the total figure. - or after each iteration, the computer performs one more addition and finally displays only the final result of the last one (which is the same total as above). Would it be possible not to perform any addition of any kind and just store automatically each individual result in the clipboard (or as a txt file)? Last edited by roger64; 06-30-2017 at 05:02 PM. |

Hi
Thanks a lot!!! It's Christmas. ![]() This will make the group saved search more handy because it will help us get more precise information. |

Hi
Testing the new feature for group search, I obtained "See what changed" (in French) which opens the file comparison window instead of the announced "See details". |

You only get a show details button if you run more than one search.

I selected a group of eight saved searches (regex) for this purpose which were performed together.

Hi
I tried several times to obtain the new feature as shown above. I installed Calibre twice (Linux 64 bits - ArchLinux) with your custom command line for Linux, reinstalled Python 3.6.1.1. and performed several tries on Epub. Selecting with the Ctrl key a group of eight saved searches (regex mode), all targeting "all texts", I still got this kind of report (screenshot). I had previously obtained the same global count using "count all". "Les recherches sélectionnées" means "selected searches". I also attach the group of regex I used. It inserts nnbsp in a French text provided there exist already nbsp in the original text. |
