Is "Visa Checkout" different than just using a Visa credit card? Probably yes, so no thanks.

In effect, it isn't. You're just paying with your Visa, but you have to go through Visa Checkout, which includes signing up for the first-time user. It isn't difficult to do and then it's done for the next time. It's akin to Google Pay or PayPal.

Sounds okay, as long as you get the card instantly. I wouldn't trust them to send it to me later.
I bought a laptop from them, oh . . . about 13 years ago. Was supposed to get a $150 rebate. After I had exhausted my efforts trying to get them to send it to me, I went to the local store where I bought it and literally watched as an employee wrote out a letter to the relevant department at BestBuy's home office. I'm still waiting for the rebate. I can hear some of you now, "but that was many years ago, upper management may have changed since then, blah, blah, blah." Yes, but I won't ever be able to keep from feeling the way that I do about Best Buy. "Once bitten, twice shy." Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 02-17-2017 at 06:36 PM. |

Card comes in the mail BUT You can use it in-store or on-line before the card gets to your mailbox. They give you your number & all the codes.

It's not getting a new credit card. I use the Visa I've had for a decade. It's just a payment system like paypal or applepay. They do this $25 deal often, I think I've used it about 5 times in the last year.

I didn't express things correctly, but the point remains the same: don't leave a BestBuy store without getting the discount, credit, rebate (I think that they quit doing rebates, but they may have re-started them, I dunno. I don't know because I haven't shopped BestBuy since then or even read their advertisements in the Sunday newspaper), or whatever it is. Better yet, just don't shop BestBuy, and there will be no possibility of them messing you over in any way. Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 02-18-2017 at 04:24 PM. |

It's an immediate credit you see before you complete the purchase.

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of the eyesight in one of your eyes. I've thought about what it would mean losing the sight in an eye, and the thing that I think that I would miss most would be the full sense of depth perception. People with sight in both eyes take that for granted, and don't realize what they would lose.
I'm saying no more about BB, except for this. At least one of my motives was to try to inform fellow MobileReaders so that they might avoid the possibility of losing their money dealing with BB. Yes, it was quite a few years ago, upper management may have changed, the company culture may have changed, etc., but I don't know that. I wouldn't trust them to this day. If you want to roll the dice, that's your business. Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 02-18-2017 at 10:25 PM. |
