A Few Questions

How do I get Calibre to search with another browser? it automatically uses google when you look up words in a book.

Is there a way to get Calibre to auto correct Publishers names? Like to auto correct to Harper Collins instead of Harper Collins LLC, Harper Collins Publishers, Harper Collins INC etc. etc. etc.

When using the export books feature how to I export the epub without the covers and opf files? I used the option that said epubs only but it still exported all the other files.

How do I get metadata to download from another website? it currently uses Amazon I want to use GoodReads.

I converted a couple of books with massive file sizes compared to other books of the same length and yes I know length isn't the only thing that give e-books their size formatting does too. My question here is what font & formatting combo can be used to reduce the file size of this book?

For those kind of 'Corrections', use the KayLee tool

I right click the Publisher: Rename. That is a Bulk fix for that name?

I also use the Manage option for Bulk fixes Tags, Authors

BTW I routinely see HarperCollins

FWIW I also delete LLC, Inc, Ltd, Group
I could care less about LEGAL status of the organization

If you are using "Save to Disk" to export the books it is a simple matter to uncheck the two related entries in Preferences > Save to Disk. You will likely want to review the other options on that dialog to see if other changes may be desired.

For the most part, cleaning up the formatting can help a bit but most of the large ebooks I have get their size from the number and size of images inside the book. If I sort by size, the largest 25 ebooks I own consist of 23 ebooks that are cookbooks with their collection of images, the Nikon D7100 For Dummies ebook and Fire In The Valley: The Birth and Death of the Personal Computer. Checking the internals, all of them are well under 1Mbytes for the text files, the remainder of their 40-220Mbytes size is images.

Yeah I know books with pictures will be bigger than books without them I have a bunch of graphic novels. The books I'm trying to fix are all text only image is the cover.

To change where "Search online for <word>" searches, go to Viewer Preferences->General and change Google to whatever.

To change the Lookup dictionaries, go to Viewer Preferences->Dictionaries and replace what's there (for English I think its Wordnik) with your favourite dictionary.

To 'standardise' publisher names you could

• Use the Manage Publishers list, which you can get at by right clicking any publisher name in the Tag Browser
• right click on an erroneous name in the Tag Browser and use the Rename option to change it to your preferred name

Both will take care of all books that use the 'bad' publisher name(s)

Install (and configure) the Goodreads Plugin? https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...23&postcount=1 (also of the Preferences: Get Plugins, list )

You might want to disable or reorder other metadata plugins

Ctrl-D: Configure Download (button) to set choices (priority) for covers and which PI source is to be used for which fields (Ya' don't have to take everything from a single source)
