Question Installtion

How can I install and debug calibre in windows 8.1. I read the documentation about it but it's not clear.
Can anyone please explain details procedure??

The instructions work fine in Win 8.1 when using desktop mode. I doubt that anything will work in metro. What specific problems are you having?

FWIW: I run my calibre development environment in both Win7 and Win8.1. I use eclipse w/pydev as the editing environment and SourceTree (by Atlassian) as the git client. There are several threads in this subforum describing how to use Eclipse, Aptana, or Windows Studio as the editing environment. Some people don't bother and just use a text editor.
