Display vs content of metada
Hi,
first sorry if this is already answered but I couldn't find it. I created a metada column (#mytitre) to show: the tag, the serie, the serie index, the author and the title. the code is: {tags:re((.*?)(\,|$).*,\1)}_{series:||-}{series_index:0>2s||_}_{author}_{title} what it does is taking the first tag, check if there is a series name and concatenate author and title. It all works very well but... when there is a comma in the title the display in Calibre navigator is wrong. here are 2 examples to illustrate: first correct: Author: A. E. Van Vogt Title: La fin du Non-A Tag: SF series: Le Non-A series index: 3 #mytitre: SF_Le Non-A-03__A. E. Van Vogt_La fin du Non-A content and display the same second, not correct Author: Harry Kemelman Title: Vendredi, on soupçonne le rabbin Tag: Policier series: Le Rabbin series index: 1 #mytitre: Policier_Le Rabbin-1_Harry Kemelman_Vendredi, on soupçonne le rabbin (this is the real content when "editing") but display is: on soupçonne le rabbin, Policier_Le Rabbin-01__Harry Kemelman_Vendredi the word Vendredi of title is displayed at the end of the column I suppose there must be a tweak for this. the tweak for display titles and series is set to title_series_sorting = 'strictly_alphabetic' Thanks beforehand for any help. |

You used a column "column built from other columns, behaves like tags". You should have used "column built from other columns". If it "behaves like tags" then the comma is significant, separating one "tag" from another then sorting them in alphabetic order.

Hi Chaley,
you are exactly right!!! Super! Thanks a lot. Is there a explanatory guide to all the Calibre options-functions? To be honest I had no idea of the differences between the 2 types of columns |
