5.6.1 JB now available to previous JB'ers and a quick question
Just a heads up to those who lost their jailbreak: there is a 1.14 update that will re-jailbreak your kindle if you fell to the 5.6.1 update. If you had not previously JB your kindle, this won't help unfortunately.

Secondly, my question, is whether or not this new JB requires the Bridge/USBnetwork or anything else to be less susceptible to a further update. I now have the latest BackDoor Lock in KUAL as added protection.

Thanks to those who worked on the JB update, and those who answer my question as well!

The jailbreak currently bundles the bridge.

The latest jailbreak has a number of features that should render us permanently protected from further unsavory surprises, but I would still recommend the Rescue Pack and Cowards Rescue Pack, as well as USBNetwork. They don't hurt, and they might save your Kindle one day.
The issue is it might get bricked. Theoretically.

They don't protect you from updates.

The rescue packs (mostly) affect the diags system, they don't have much to do w/ the main FW version. The issue only arises when new diags build pop up (i.e., new devices & new board revisions).

No issues on the new 4GB PW2.

Ok maybe I'm dense. I went and re-downloaded the 1.14 JB, but don't see anything in the changelog past nov. Looking in wrong place?

The 1.14 jailbreak was released a the end of Nov.

From the Changelog.txt in the stable jailbreak zip (not the snapshot)
