Help! I've semi-bricked my DXG!

It will power down to screensaver, power up to last page read, rotate screen in response to rotating the Kindle, and enter USB mode when plugged in.

It will not mount on the Mac when plugged in (even though it's screen says it's in "USB Drive Mode"), or respond to any keypress: menu, home, forward, back, etc.

Since I can turn it on and off, isn't there a magic key combo that will make it re-boot?

Any other ideas? I'm getting tired of reading the same page over and over. :-)

The last thing I did before it became unresponsive was fill it full of PDFs, to within a few tens of MB of full. Then it seemed to get slower and slower, until it basically went on strike...

Have you tried a Factory Reset?

I don't have access to the main menu (or any menu) to do that.

Is there a way to do a factory reset with some key combo?

Another strangeness: it won't show up on the Mac desktop, but on a whim, I was able to see it in a terminal (/Volumes/Kindle) and even successfully deleted some books, thinking I might have put too much on it. df(1) shows it's 90% full.

Never mind. I figured it out: hold the power switch for an incredibly long time. (I counted to 40.) It's back to normal now.

That's just a normal reboot. Always the first thing to try when things go wrong.
