A quick way to edit titles?

Is there a quick way to remove things like + from a book title? I converted some books from zips to epubs and they had + signs in between words in the titles.

Metadata editor:Bulk mode Search and replace (tab) REGEX mode

plus is a wild card, so it will need to be escaped (\+)

Foo+Bar+Title

Search

Code:

(.+?)\+(.+?)

replace:

Code:

\1 \2

there is a space there

Save this search

Rather than finding the perfect code, just remove 1 + at a time
run the replace
Exit S+R

Your title should now be: Foo Bar+Title

Find the titles that still have 1 or more +

Repeat

Thanks. It took me a little while to work out the right spots for everything but it's working a lot better now. I did a single book alone at first (just in case something wasn't set right yet) and it did remove the + marks.

What I love about that form, is the Sample of actual results near the bottom.

As Always: A full Backup is always advised before applying a change like this to many books.

I did save the epubs to a separate folder before starting any changes. Like you said better safe than sorry.
