Happy that Sigil is still alive, thank for efforts.
Is it impossible to paste ascii text contents from the clipboard to the editor? Paste is gre(a)yed out. Version 0.8

Not as far as I know. Copy/Paste should work normally. I have to admit that I never use the menu for that, just Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V.

I use CodeView of course.

IIRC there was mention of a QT5 quirk

if you close the source of the copy before the paste, the CB no item longer works

I could've sworn I'd responded to this post already (it was the first response, in fact), but I no longer see it, so maybe I'm losing my mind.

Anyway ... copy/paste works as expected for me using 0.8.0 and Windows 7 64-bit (and Vista 32-bit). Whether using the menu or keyboard shortcuts (regardless of whether the source document is still open or not). Code View and Book View. Not experiencing the greyed-out Paste phenomenon (except when nothing's been copied to the clipboard). *shrug*

Copy/Paste works within Sigil, but I can not copy text fragment from another, in my case, Windows application.
I use Topstyle as an css editor. I can copy a fragment of a css file opened by Topstyle to any other application like notepad, editpad Pro, Open Office and Sigil 0.7.4 but no to Sigil 0.8.0.

That's what I assumed you meant ... and exactly what I'm talking about being able to do without the issues you're experiencing.

I don't have that program. Did you happen to check if you were able to paste from other Windows applications to Sigil 0.8.0?

@PalingB - do you run any Clipboard Extenders. someone has/had problems with Clipboard Magic on another well know cutie five program, see Clipboard Magic fails under Calibre 2.0

Neither do I have this problem. Over the past several days I have been republishing books and adding links to various other books. I built the "More from the Author" section in one book, copied it to Notepad, and pasted it into five other books. I am using Sigil 0.7.2 on a Win 7 32-bit box.

BTW: I think all Windows users should shut down their computers today if they haven't already installed the massive update of yesterday.

Thank you for your reply. After a reboot(Win7 X64), starting Sigil 8.0, no copy/paste problem occurs. I use Calibre, CSE html validator, Editpad Pro, Topstyle 5.0, Firefox as browser.
Tried a lot of combintions/sequences(kind of debugging) of loaded programs to find the problem. Without any succes. The problem occurs suddenly, not during a Sigil session but after starting a new session. When the problem occurs, neither Sigil 7.4, nor any other program causes the Copy/Paste problem.
Until now i don't use 8.0 for the plugin options, but it solves a little (dutch)keyboard quirk, 6/^ combination. Perhaps a little Qt problem.

BTW i really love Sigil, and the new revival!!!
