Kindle Touch Problem

Hi all,

I have a kindle touch and am having an issue with collections and books not showing.

I have 309 books on my kindle under my items / All

I created 5 collections and have been adding the books to these collections. So far i have added 261 books to the collections and the books not in the collections have now disappeared if i have the view set to collections all items.

If i swap the view back to say all items authors instead all 309 books show.

So in collection view i am missing 48 books, they are on the kindle but not in collections and not showing on pages 1/* its as if they no long exist.

I am on the latest software version.

While typing this i rebooted it and the books reappeared however now when i try to add them to a collection they get added but also stay on the main pages as well.

This is madness, anyone have any ideas?

Collections view is for books that are in collections. You need to use Recent, Author or Title view to view all titles.

Sorry you are totally missing the point or the issue.

It works like this if you set your view to collections you see the collections like this

Horror

Fantasy

Crime

Book 1 - Not in a collection
Book 2 - Not in a collection.

So any books not in a collection appear under the collections, this has been fine since i got the kindle, it is the same as all the other e-ink kindles and has been working fine since I got the kindle, however as I had a few pages of this I wanted to remove the new books I had got in to the collections and not sitting underneath the collections. I like to have 1 page with collections and all books in them.


What I am getting is one of two things.

Either

Horror

Fantasy

Crime

And no other books showing at all even though 50 of them are not in collections and so should be below so I can add them to the relevant collections like I did with the other 200+

Or

Horror

Fantasy

Crime

and the books not in collections below showing but when I add them to a collection they appear below the collections and in the collections as well, something which is also not correct.

I am assuming it is a software issue as I am getting an intermittent issue, books either not in collections not showing or books showing when in collections that shouldn't be as they should be in their collection as indicated and not on the front page under them. So this means I have 200+ books in collections + another 50 + in collections and sitting underneath the collections they are in as well. I hope this is making sense but trust me it is not working correctly and I was hoping someone else had come across this issue and had a solution or it could be the Kindle is crapping out.

Se at present the books are showing under the collections but are also in the collection, when I reboot the disappear but not all of them are in collections meaning I cannot find them without scrolling through 300 + books which should just be in their collections.

If I reboot again the books all disappear and only the collections show but 50 of those are not in collections and they disappear too which shouldn't happen.

I think the kindle is on its way out personally.

This works just fine on my Kindle Touch. I believe the Kindle Paperwhite should act just as you say is happening (collections sort only lists collections, instead of the old behavior that sorted collections first).

But you say you have a Kindle Touch, not PW, so this does sound odd?

(BTW pidgeon92 has a Kindle PW so confusion is perhaps understandable. )
