Comments in Metadata-dialog: Icons in normal view missing, changes in HTML not saved

Hello guys,

i have the following problem since a few days: with calibre v1.9 64Bit, when editing the metadada of a book there are no icons on top the normal view. The second problem: when editing in HTML-view the changes are not saved.

Does anyone have an idea what could be the reason for this or how i can repair it?

edit: i did a re-install where i choosed the option to "repair" but that didn't help.

(the attached screenshot shows the comments part of the metadata-edit-dialog with(out) the icons in normal-view)

If that was the book viewer, the install was corrupt.

Use the control Panel and uninstall Calibre

Delete the previous 1.9 download and get a Fresh one.

Install that.
Your library remains during uninstalls

Hi theducks!

Many, many thanks! I succeeded in following your advice: i downloaded the 1.9 again and installed it - and now everything is okay again:
Look at the attached screenshot! All the icons are there again and changes to the HTML-source of the comments are changed as desired! Yippeeh!

btw: it wasn't the book viewer - it was the main program, editing the metadata from a single book (right-mouse click on a book, first menu-item, then again first menu-item)

edit: now (too late, i know) i see a similar thread: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=226073
