Fade to White Screen - Egads! What's going on!?!?

I've been watching videos (.avi) on my Vox using Gallery for a while now, but I think this is the first time I've watched any video's since the firmware upgrade in late Dec.

After about 40 mins. into a video (I've watched a few different ones) the screen starts to fade slowly to white. I can still hear the audio - but the video is gone - and it's just a white screen. I have to power it down and power it back up again. The screen is slightly lighter (with more bleed) than normal upon power up, but seems to adjust itself (gulp...) as it completes the startup.

I have not read (either books or mags) for more than 40 mins since the upgrade, so I am not sure if my screen will fade with those, too - or if this is simply a limitation of the Gallery app.

Just curious if anyone else has seen this happen to their Vox? I will experiment some more and post and update soon. I really hope my screen isn't f*cked...

Wow, I've never heard of an issue like this on any sort of computer. Perhaps it's a software issue with the gallery app? Try using a different video player and see if that helps. Also so if any other sort of usage causes the issue.

I really like mVideoPlayer for movies and other video. Here's the free version if you're interested.

mVideoPlayer seems to work fine - and no whitescreen issues. I think maybe my Gallery app is either corrupted or has a limitation to the amount of video it can play at any given time? Just a guess.

One downfall to mVideoPlayer (at least on my Vox) is that I cannot change the landscape view to either side or portratit (Gallery does this) - it's always got the bottom of the screen on the left. So...unfortunately, because of how my book-like cover can hold my Vox up (in a pup tent-like fashion) it's upside down when I try to prop it up to watch. Dang!

I actually use Meridian as a video app. At the moment, I am fairly certain that it can be viewed as either landscape if that's a big deal for you.

Pokee,

I'm using mVideoplayer and it changes orientation automatically for me.

Go into "Preferences" and "Screen Orientation" and see what the setting is there.
It has "portrait", "landscape" and "automatic". Mine is set to "automatic". Perhaps if set to "landscape" it only supports one landscape orientation.
