What combination do you prefer? 650+prs+ or T1+root
Well, that's the question.
In the same prize, wich combination is better? Is easy change fonts whith prs+? Thanks. ![]() |

I too would like to know this. About to buy one or the other for my wife for Christmas. Wondering which is better.
What does rooting the T1 give you that PRS+ doesn't though? I guess I need to read up on that. |

Another question.
Any differences in screen between T1 and 650?, or are the same screen. Thanks. |

Just researched what rooting does. No need to post that. Sounds cool, I guess, if you want to use the android features. I personally don't care for a tablet. I'll only ever be interested in reading books on mine. Especially since most apps require refresh... To each his own, I guess.
And since someone mentioned they've firmwared up and cured the crashing issues, I'm really getting interested in the T1 now. |

If PDF usage is important, then IMHO the 650 performs here better than the T1, though both of course are far from perfect for complex PDFs (but the T1 borders on unusable). Also, the 650 is more stable as it appears that the latest firmware fix for the T1 is far from perfect, as the 650 has mature software, while the T1 has quite new software (first Sony reader with Android). Of course, if WIFI is very important to you, then the 650 is at a marked disadvantage. Rooting doesn't help for PDFs as far as I know, as the applications (ezPDF) are not made for eInk and there is a LOT of flashing. I also must admit that the T1 contrast as a bit higher than my 950's contrast. I have not changed fonts on my 950 yet, and I look forward to a up and coming PRS+ which will allow for one level of sub-collections.

When the PRS-T1 is rooted, I read that it's possible to install Kindle reading app for Android for those who have or expect to buy Kindle ebooks and don't want to remove DRMs and translate them to ePUB.

In plain English, a rooted T1 is a better Kindle then a Kindle.

No, you have reason, it's not in the official version yet. I have it because I create my custom PRS+ directly from the repository.
