Failed to read exe path

"Failed to read exe path" - I get that error when I run calibre.

I upgraded to the lastest 0.8 version on my Ubuntu 8.04 box. I need glibc >= 2.10 so I copied libc-2.11.1.so from an Ubuntu 10.04 box to /usr/local/calibre/lib/ and made a symlink libc.so.6 -> libc-2.11.1.so. Then I run Calibre and get the error. Please help -- thanks!

Exactly what version of calibre are you running? If it isn't 0.8.30 then upgrade to the newest version using the Binary install method outlined here. Linux repository versions are not supported.

Ubuntu 8.04 is way too old to run calibre easily. Search this forum for examples of the hoops people had to jump through to run calibre on old debian versions, the process for you will be similar.
