Smile 2 Questions about my epub/pdf book

Hello

I have a book that is both and I would like to sell it online.
It has an ISBN. But the book in not in English, and I reside outside the USA.

1. What are my chances of having my book sold on Amazon? I mean being in non-English?
What about PDF or epub, does Amazon allow them?
If not, what formats does it allow?

2. Then what about selling it on AppStore or iBooks?
I'm not sure if Appstore will allow me to sell books will it?
But I guess ibooks will, but how do I start? How can create an author account and get started?

Thanks

Thanks

I take it that you are asking as the writer of a book? If so you would probably be better off having this moved to the Writers Corner forum. Someone on there shoild be able to help

You can sell books on amzon.com that are not in English. That is not a requirnment. However, realize that amazon.com is an English language store so primarily people buying from it will speak English. I'm speaking about the .com website only. Other tld amazon websites, amazon.de for instance, is German language and has primarily German speakers.

I would recommend selling in the amazon site for your country. However, that doesn't mean you can't sell with multiple Amazon websites (.com, .de...)

Amazon does not support EPUB. They use MOBI. Amazon provides tools for converting from EPUB to MOBI for selling with them. They also provide tools for you to see what the final result will look like.

That was very informative, thanks.

Do you how much percent does Amazon take of the total sell price?
How can I start with Amazon, can you provide me with the registration link, or where I should start?

Anyone knows anything about my question about ibookstore?

Thanks

If your book costs less than $2.99, you'll get 35% from every sale. If it's between $2.99 and $9.99, you'll get 70%, minus the data transmission fees. More details here.

Google is your friend!

As far as iBooks goes, only iPad or iPhone users may buy from there. Plus, in order to get the book directly into iBooks, you have to run Mac OSX 10.5 or newer (sorry, if you run Windows or Linux, you're SOL. If you just have an iPad, you're SOL. If you have a Mac with something older than Leopard, you're SOL).

Do you care about DRM? If you want to sell as many places as possible, try considering Smashwords. They are DRM free, but provided the book follows the format guidelines, they can make sure it get into the ebookstores for Amazon, Kobo, Apple iBooks, and many more. This can be helpful at times, since it simplifies things greatly.
