Unable to convert to MOBI

I'm running the latest version of Calibre on MS Vista and everytime I try to convert a single column PDF to MOBI instead of MOBI appearing in the selection box top right corner the program hangs for a minute or two and then shuts down, I also convert into PDB and EPUB both of which work ok - any suggestions ?

Go to preferences->look & feel and select a different font for the calibre user interface. Try a standard font like Verdana or Candara.

I've now tried various fonts and tested all output formats, but it still refuses to let me access either LRF or MOBI, attempting to select either of these results in program freezing and a minute or two later shutting down. All other formats work ok

I have also tried running in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode, but it is still the same

Then you have some fonts/files in your c:\windows\fonts folder that are causing the problem.

Start calibre in debug mode and if you are lucky some font file names will be printed out that are causing the problem

You could use the little arrow next to preferences.

Note the Message, when given. This is about the location of the Debug file.

Thanks for all the help it was as predicted a problem with my font folder which I've now corrected and all is working ok
