What do Nook Locker and WiFi Locker??
Can someone please explain what Nook Locker and Nook WiFi Locker do and which way you lock something on or off? Specifically I am looking for what these do in the rooted version 2.5.1. I get the feeling that one locks WiFi on or off, but the other one, I am unsure of. I am unable to get ADB over USB working and I think one of these might have something to do with the problem.
Much thanks Last edited by chas0039; 12-18-2010 at 09:11 AM. |

Are you sure you have the latest version of the softroot? The first version I tried did not have adb over USB; it was over wifi. If you can get adb over USB, then you won't need to use wifilocker.
As for wifilocker, if the button says "Lock Wi-Fi", then wifi is currently not locked. If the button says "UnLock Wi-Fi", then wifi is currently locked. (i.e. the current state is the opposite of the button label.) If your nook does not have adb over USB, and you want to use adb, first you'll have to use wifilocker to lock the wifi on and start adb. Then find your nook's IP address, and connect to it like this: adb 192.168.0.1:5555 (But replace 192.168.0.1 with your nook's IP.) Don't forget to unlock the wifi when you're done using adb, since it's a waste of battery. |

Thanks for your help. I have no WiFi access so I must use USB. I do have 2.5.1 and the nook is recognized in Android Commander but there are no apps listed so I can do nothing with the apps.
You cleared up WiFi locker, but what about Nook Locker. Any more help out there? |

Question: Where do you find "Nook Locker"? Do you mean "WI-FI LOCK TURN ON"? I think it is useless by sjkevin's argument.
. The WIFI locker app is mainly important to enable/disable adb. Leaving adb on sucks power. |

Sorry, I looked again and WiFi Locker is what I was after.
Is ADB on or off if WiFi Locker is not installed? If it is off, this may be why Commander won't work. Thanks |
