Should I abandon 505 for a new 950??
I've got to admit that I'm still very happy with my 505. On the other hand, I'm fascinated with the newness of the 950 except I don't really need the extra bells and whistles nor the larger screen on the 950.
So, what should I do? Stick with my 505? Or go for the 950? And why? |

If you don't want the larger screen or the wireless I would save the money. The clarity of the screen is certainly better than the 505, but why waste the money if the features don't appeal to you. On the other hand you could look at a 650 which gives you the newer screen and touch, but without the wireless and larger screen size. You'll save a few bucks as well.
There are other benefits outside of the screen size and wireless such as updated software and faster performance that may be a benefit to you, but these would be the same between the 650 and the 950. The touch feature also makes a huge difference when reading anything with links such as a newspaper. I personally love mine and I really like the 7 inch screen, but everyone's needs/desires are a little different. |

Having come from the 505 to the 950 I tend to think if u don't want the bells and whistles the 650 is a good choice and yes the screen is worth the upgrade.

Since you don't need the wireless, 3G or larger screen, I would also put in a vote for the 650. The screen is nicer, page turns are faster and the menu is easier to navigate.
If you wanted to sell your 505 they are going for $100 on ebay. |

Thanks for the good advice!
I had already decided it is the 950 or stick with the 505. It sounds like the upgrade is worth it. |

Will all of the formats that I have saved on my PC for loading into my 505 also load into a new 950, including all the LRFs I have accumulated?
And will Adobe Digital Editions work with the 950? Thanks! Last edited by petercreasey; 10-26-2010 at 04:14 PM. |

All the same formats will work except maybe the LRX format, which is the DRM version of LRF.
ADE should work with the 950, just a matter of authorizing it once you have the Reader connected to your computer. |
