I am seeing the same message as HARPANGEL36 when I try to change fonts on my Kindle NT with SO. I am shown what files are missing, but I followed the instructions correctly and renamed the fonts as described, yet for some reason it is not being recognized. Please help.

What is the exact message you are seeing?

Can you list out the fonts directory on your Kindle?

(AFAIR, this kind of thing might have already been happening with the previous version, in debug mode. It still doesn't trigger anything in the GUI when not running in debug though).

Killing the only UTF-8 smartquote I could find (in a book title) 'fixed' these two warnings.

Also, and that's new and a bigger inconvenience, this happens after trying to create collections from calibre, after the 'Create Kindle Collections' job finishes:

This is only in debug mode, and as far as I know, it probably caused errors in older versions as well. I've added a an attempt to convert to your local encoding. I'm not sure if trying to replace the character or ignore it is best. Lets see if it catches it first.

Yes, that helps As you can see from the commenting out I was deciding how to make that call and the simpler function obviously doesn't work in all cases. It was tricky to get it to work at all. I've modified it slightly to hopefully make the call more robust, without doing the additional recheck of the device.

I've attached a test version with these 2 fixes - can you give them a try?

Changing the margins and justification worked on my Kindle 3, but not on my Kindle 4 (the small model). I used the newest versions of calibre and KC.

It works on my K4.

Setting the margin or justification doesn't work for all books. Are you testing with the same book?

Have you definitely gone to the home page of the K4 before connecting to your PC and running the plugin?

Have you restarted the K4, not just powered it off?

I hope this isn't a stupid question - I didn't want to go through 91 pages. I've been using the Collection plugin for a while and the collection gets created on the K but the books in the collection don't always get added - yet other collections' books are in the collection without me manually adding to the collection on the K?

Is there some trick that I'm missing? Thanks.

How are you using the plugin?

If you are using the plugin's Edit Collections menu option to manually edit what is on the Kindle, then what is in the collection on the Kindle should match what you see in the GUI. If any books do not have a checkmark in the 'Visible' column in the GUI then they won't appear in a collection on the Kindle even if you add it (wrong type, bad format, etc.)

If you are using the Create Collections menu option to build your collections automatically from your calibre data, then take a look at the report that is generated - when the dialog pops up to say the Create is done, click Show Details. Look through the report to see if the numbers of books in the collections look right, and if there are any warnings, or any relevant comments about the specific books in the report.

You should run View Report to see a report of what is on your Kindle - this may help find any issues. You can run Edit Collections just to view your Kindle's collections to see if there are extra books on the Kindle (and then select Cancel to avoid saving).

Look for one of the specific books not showing up in a collection in the reports or on the Kindle itself or in Calibre's Device view, to see if there is anything different about it.

If you still can't find anything, you can try debug mode on the plugin to list even more details - see the Troubleshooting section in the first post on this thread.

A new update of the plugin has been released to fix the error message about "Nonetype" showing up after the Create Collections runs.

This will show up as a plugin update in calibre shortly.

@NiLuJe - can you test this with your debug output issue.
