As for fit, that can be problematic. The alternative is shopping for fit at brick-and-mortar stores (if one has the item) and then ordering from Amazon, and that's morally dubious IMO. Just this past summer, I ordered two pairs of sandals which were a gold-box special. The reviews said true-to-size, but my feet swam in them. I did exchange them for a size smaller.

That said, I generally avoid ordering items where I think the fit is dicey. Shoes are tough (I ordered the sandals because they were a great deal); sweaters, say, are more forgiving. But that's mostly because returns are a nuisance, not because I think I'd be courting trouble with Amazon.

One of my wife's favorite clothing stores is "Hamrick's." She doesn't like to use the changing rooms so she just buys the items and then returns them if there is a fit problem. No problems, ever!

Their closest store to New England is in VA so I guess that is too far for you.

If that's good, full-spectrum lighting and an unaltered photo, they're definitely blue. The dress situation was very different. (And it was always pale blue and bronze.)

Well, if they were sodium street lamps, there is no (OK, very little) light in the red spectrum (red cars look black) so that makes sense.

Right, so :
An independent body.
Funded by the retailers.
Won't get involved until at least 8 weeks after you have complained to the retailer.
Only retailers who are members have to pay any attention to any ruling they make.
So their ruling is only binding to members (i.e. the retailers who are funding them).
Oh, and the ombudsman can't tell you if a retailer is a member or not.

I can't see any problems here at all, seems like a great idea

The show was rather disappointing, I just watched it now. The segment about Amazon is around 40 minutes in, and it really offers nothing than Amazon closes some accounts and stands by that decision. They made it sound like one person who had his account closed was due to one refund requested for a mattress set that got lost in shipment and never arrived, but never mentioned if there were any previous high number of returns. In another case it was for returning damaged DVDs, and the guy's brother had his account also closed because he lived with him.

Not very insightful or helpful at all as to how Amazon comes to the decision and if there is ever a way to argue your case with them. Save your time and don't bother going out of your way to watch this.
