Steve Jobs has died

Definitely a sad time. I am deeply amazed at how Steve Jobs really did change and great a industry and the world. I'm a deep seeded computer lover and started out with my Apple IIe just to play games and us OS command lines when I was 6, and then on learned to do and work in the things I have a passion for - computers.

I do thank him for doing all that he did in such a short amount time in ways that many people may not notice. From great software to hardware, with unique design and engineering processes that not many can't yet match.

I do think the world has lost a great mind and it makes me wonder where things will go now that he's passed on. Especially for a company like Apple.

I think the Woz should return personally, Apple can always use a Steve.

It seems evident that Jobs was far from being a great human being. So are we all, or at least, many of us. But it is self-evident that he was great at what he chose as his life's work.

Of course he was a great Creator. He created the most successful company, measured by wealth and by influence in his industry, in the world in the space of 35 years, starting in his garage. And he created, through that company, products people didn't realize they wanted until he created them.

I'll tell you exactly when he won me over. It was the lowest point in his career, he'd just been ousted from the company he build from scratch starting in a garage. His combination of creativity, chutzpa, self assurance, leadership, and pure brass balls when had the unmitigated gall to take on the entire industry by naming his new company NeXT.

He and his company had it's critics however. I don't agree with some of the things Apple did under his stewardship, especially with regards to China.
But that is not to say his loss isn't felt in terms of what he has inspired in terms of technology.

Yeah, there really is not point, beyond rudeness, for people to interrupt a memorial thread with that kind of thing. It's just poor taste. I don't tend to stick around on forums that are nasty like that, so I very much hope we don't go that way, either, and I am glad that mods help keep things from getting out of hand.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand. Regardless of what anyone things of the company, the man contributed quite a lot, and I'm sorry for his passing, especially at such a young age, and from such a nasty disease.

I think there are a few people who are so sad, pitiful and miserable in their own lives that they can not understand the gaping hole death leaves in people's lives.

I just lost my grandfather and it ripped me to shreds. I cannot fathom the pain that Steve Jobs' children are currently experiencing.

And to those who can only sneer while inside of a thread dedicated to the greatness of a human's life - shame! Shame on you! I only pray that you live your real life better than what you have displayed here.
