I finished Roseanna by Sjöwall and Wahlöö some time ago, and have since read A for Anything by Damon Knight. Both books were solid but unspectacular. One's a police procedural, the other is dystopian sci-fi.
I'm starting on Leviathan Wakes by James Corey from the Hugo shortlist now, and I also accidentally read a good chunk of Bounce: The Myth of Talent by Matthew Syed this morning. The latter is a strange mix of inspiring and demoralising. It's about whether excellence is inherent or the result of hard work. (Spoiler: it's the second one. ![]() |

Currently Reading:
- Frankenstein, or The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley (38%) - Professor Moriarty: the Hound of the D'urbervilles by Kim Newman (28%) - Climbing Mount Improbable by Richard Dawkins (25%) - 212 by Alafair Burke (8%) - Moby-Dick, or The Whale by Herman Melville (28%) [on hold] I got 212 for free and immediately started reading it instead of waiting until I finished something else. Oh well. |

Currently reading "Death comes to Pemberley", by PD James, her murder mystery sequel to Jane Austin's "Pride and Prejudice". It's an enjoyable read and pretty faithful to the style of the original, but why did she do it? I'd rather have another of her Adam Dalgleish books.

Mario Puzo's The Godfather.
One's enough for me. I don't understand how people can have 2 or 3 or more on the go! |

1 novel 1 audiobook when travelling 1 non-fiction book This keeps them all fairly well separated in my mind, as long as the novel and audiobook are similar genres/themes, which I try to ensure are different. |

I usually have at least three on the go, one on the Ipod which is tiny and fits into any bag, an audiobook and another on the ereader or a "real" book.
