My mom is probably going to take my extra Fire HD 6 as her Christmas present! So I have this weekend (while she is here) to get it set up. I'll try that File Explorer trick! It's only the 8 GB size but hopefully that will be enough for her.

ETA set the Fire up for my mom, and tried the File Ex to File Ex transfer....WOW! That was amazing! Thanks for the tip, Blossom, you saved me a lot of time!

You're welcome ES File Explorer is a must have app! It does pretty much everything.

Just let you know the newest firmware fixed the battery drain issue!!!!! I left my KF6's Wifi on for 24 hours total drainage 3%

Not really seeing a difference in battery drain between 4.5.1 and 4.5.2.

But then I can't get Gsam battery app to work properly and I do read on it right now a lot so I have to charge it once a day.
I didn't really have a draining issue much before this update so time will tell. I just need to find a battery monitor that works. HD battery doesn't work either as its not showing a list of apps.

I did notice there's an update (4.5.2) for Fire HD 6 here, but has anyone received that automatically yet? My device doesn't know it's available when I check Settings > Device Options > System Updates.

Mine got there automatically. Well in my case my fire didn't have enough battery so it told me when I tried to update from the notification bar that I needed 30%. Once it charged to that, it updated automatically. HD6.

I am Battery is on 83% since I posted. That's awesome and now I haven't used it much. Before I couldn't leave WiFi on or it would be like 60% drain or more in a day.
