If it's from a social site in China perhaps it's some form of knockoff (do they have a company called Yangtze...?)

The blogger said that a 3rd-party company invited him to a consumer seminar, but at first he doesnt know the detail, and then amzn.cn staff managed that research meeting. Seems credible.

The underside is asymmetrical. What if you are left handed and want hold it by the thick part and on the left side.

If they are going to do it that way, then the front screen has to be centered so you can rotate it and it does not look "upside down." You also need to weight balance it so neither "top" nor "bottom" is heavier in either orientation.

Asymmetry is an interesting idea for reducing size and weight, but to have asymmetry, you need symmetry elsewhere.

It's not asymmetrical. Note that the drawing depicts landscape mode. In portrait mode (which is default), the thick portion becomes the bottom of the device.

It's a chinese mate playing a joke. "The same screen as previous kindle", not at all, that's almost a perfect square. The aspect ratio is far from being equal to previous kindles.
That was just a minute worth of Photoshop or even MS Paint.

Other than that, as much as I love Kindles, I'd only get a new Voyage if they increase the size of it a bit.
E-reader has become my main way of reading books, and I don't want to feel like I'm reading pocket books forever.
Just received a PW3 and it's very nice, but it will be my last 6" e-reader.

I'm just the opposite. I have a Voyage and I'm more than happy with it but if they made a 5" model I'd love that.

I never liked reading hardbacks. Before I began ebooks I almost always read paperbacks. Some where the larger trade type but most were the regular size ones. Kindles' reading area is a bit larger than those typically were. Probably the same length but a little wider.

I don't really care that much about the size of the reading area. I'm more concerned about the size of the device. I want it to fit comfortably in my hand. I want it to be small enough to grip comfortably. With a paperback I could grip it anywhere but with an ereader I have to avoid the screen for the most part and grip on the bezel or the two sides. With my Kobo Aura I can hold it from behind and get a good grip on both sides and that's my preferred way to hold it. But the Kindles, at least the current ones, are just a bit big for that.

The Voyage is too small to suit me. When I try holding it in one hand to read my thumb will touch the screen and there it goes.
