Google Dyspraxia. Dyslexia and Dyspraxia usually go hand and hand but not always. You can have one but not the other it varies combinations of both.

Just know you are not alone. There are others out there with similar experiences. I long ago stopped wondering what's wrong with me. I've learned to accept I'm different and so is my way of thinking.

My husband is prior Military and an Army brat. "Can't" isn't a word in his vocabulary. Excuses are just that to him. There is no excuse in his eyes. He's had to take on more than his fair share in the relationship so there is resentment and bitterness there. I was perfectly healthy till I met him. While dating I started getting sick and I've battled health issues on and off since. Now he is dealing with his health and I'm having to take care of him despite my issues. My husband is very much a bear at times. A great big grizzly bear! lol

I have that problem too, but I've solved it in a trivial way. It's now easy.

I empty the entire room of everything except furniture that I know will stay in there, and then put back in what I want to keep and organize it in the process.

Everything that is left over will be sold, given away, or thrown away depending on its usefulness.

I'd never heard of dyspraxia so I looked it up - wow, that must be hard to live with. Makes my klutziness seem like nothing.

Blossom, you must really like what you get from reading, to not only read frequently in spite of the difficulties but also take the time and effort to post on a forum about reading.

I do love reading. Books were practically forbidden in my house growing up. I was denied a proper education so I read everything I could get my hands on. In 1993 I got online and it opened up a whole new world to me.

There are varying degrees of Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. My sister's is much worse. You can overcome any thing if you really want to but it takes dedication and perseverance. It takes discovering what works for you.

My husband is a slow reader. He is very intelligent, has a bachelor's but his reading takes forever. He hates to read. He will read psychology books and magazines but that's about it. I love to read and I think I read at a pretty normal speed but I've learned that fonts, background and formatting play a huge part in my speed. However there are times I can't read due to my brain not wanting to if that makes sense. I rely on audiobooks during that. I know when not to push it. I do not watch TV at all other than news so this is my main source of entertainment.
