This omnibus goes on sale for £0.99 every few months, but it has been a couple of years since it was posted, so here you go. It's £0.99 again at Kindle UK right now. @soulfuldog's link below is still good...

And now, after yesterday's Kindle UK Big Deal on the beginning of the series, several books in the middle of Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta series are on sale for variously £1.99 and £2.99 each.

At £1.99...
  • Unnatural Exposure, #8
  • Point of Origin, #9
  • Black Notice, #10
And at £2.99...
  • The Last Precinct, #11
  • Blow Fly, #12
  • Trace, #13
Here's a link that pulls up all of them, with a stray or two:

When Blood Lies, #17, is the most recent in the Sebastian St. Cyr series by CS Harris, at least until a new one comes out in April. It has dropped to £1.99 at Kindle UK right now.

And while I was looking at the series, I noticed that the sixteenth book in the series, What the Devil Knows, is £2.99 right now as well.

The Orchid and the Emerald by Timothy David Mack is $0.99 at Amazon and Kobo.

Timothy David Mack turns out to be an amalgamation of three people. Not sure how I feel about that. But the book sounds great.

Quote:
An American frontiersman and an undercover British officer become entangled in a web of intrigue, war, and love as their search for a mythical cure and a fabulous gem takes them to the heart of a dying Amazonian empire.

William Gunn wants nothing more than a quiet life. After returning home from the Napoleonic wars, he accepts a position on the Duke of Devonshire’s idyllic estate. Destiny, however, intervenes when his young daughter Sarah falls prey to a mysterious sickness, and Gunn must strike out once more into the unknown and search for an unusual cure—the black orchid, a plant found only in the forbidding Amazon rainforest, where the last man who saw it went insane.

Across the Atlantic, American frontiersman Nathanial Yankee has left his country and his past behind to join a new revolution, fought by General Simón Bolívar to free South America from the Spanish. Nate, however, is no hero—he fights for land, and a chance at a fresh start.

Pursued by a cruel enemy in a race against time, William and Nate must survive the battlefields of the Spanish Main, cross the snow-covered peaks of the Andes, and finally reckon with the rulers of a dying Amazonian empire. For one man, the goal is a chance to save his daughter’s life; for the other, a priceless treasure beckons. If they cannot learn to work together, one of a thousand enemies will kill them (that is, if they don’t kill each other first).

Unbeknownst to them, both men are pawns in a far larger game, and some secrets cannot be hidden forever …

A gentle reminder that self-pubbed books are not to be listed, unless the poster has personal knowledge of the book or author or other specific reason to recommend it, or it's a book formerly trad-pubbed.

ETA: They can of course be listed elsewhere, just not in a sticky.

If that was for me, Blackstone Publishing is a legitimate publisher. They publish James Clavell's stuff and some Michael Crichton for instance.

Cold, Cold Bones is the most recent (2022) Temperance Brennan book by Kathy Reichs. It's on sale for £0.99 at Kindle UK right now as part of today's Daily Deal (so only for a few hours more, probably).

Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09K853KHP

Spoiler:
Quote:
In a profession like this, you're bound to make enemies . . .

It all starts when Dr Temperance Brennan finds a box on her porch. Inside is a fresh human eyeball with GPS coordinates etched into it. They lead her to a macabre discovery in a Benedictine Monastery, and soon after she discovers a mummified corpse in a state park.

There seems to be no pattern to these killings, except that each mimics a killing connected to something a younger Tempe experienced, or barely escaped. Someone is targeting her, and she needs to figure out why before they strike again.

And then her daughter Katy disappears.

Someone is playing a dangerous game with Tempe.
And they won’t stop until they have taken everything from her . . .

Electrifying, heart-stopping and compulsive, this is Tempe’s most personal and dangerous case yet . . .

I came late to this series by way of a couple of review copies, and I mostly enjoyed those two books - this one and the previous one. However, as I think I mentioned before, I find Reichs' habit of cliff-hanger chapter endings to be hugely annoying, the more so since she writes well enough IMO not to need them. Other than that though, the stories are tight and interesting. Not sure if I'm going to accept any more review copies though, since the chapter-ending thing seems to be a (bad) habit and I have plenty of others to read. If you want to see my full reviews, they're on my blog...

Murder on Madison Square by Victoria Thompson is the 25th and most recent in her Sarah Brandt Malloy/Gaslight series - at least until the 26th comes out in April. It has dropped to £1.99 at Kindle UK right now.

Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09B94NF35

Spoiler:
Quote:
Sarah and Frank Malloy must catch a scheming killer in this latest gripping installment in the USA Today bestselling Gaslight Mysteries

Former policeman Frank Malloy is frustrated when a woman requests his private detective services to implicate her wealthy husband in adultery, the only legal grounds for divorce in New York state. Although Mrs. Bing seems genuinely distressed about her marriage and desperate to end it, she refuses to tell Frank the reason she absolutely must divorce her husband and admits she has no legal grounds. Frank explains he won't manufacture evidence for her and sends her on her way.

The following week, Frank and Sarah happen to be attending the first ever auto show in Madison Square Garden when they meet the woman's husband, Alfred Bing, who has invested in a company that produces one of the electric motorcars on display. A few days later, the newspapers report that millionaire Alvin Bing has been found dead, pinned beneath one of the wheels of his very own motorcar. But who was driving it? The obvious suspect is Mrs. Bing, but Frank and Sarah find that nothing is as it seems in their puzzling, dangerous search for truth.

The Western Star is the thirteenth Walt Longmire book by Craig Johnson. It's $1.99 at Kindle and Kobo US today.

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N2AAPVU
Kobo US: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/the-western-star

Spoiler:
Quote:
Sheriff Walt Longmire is enjoying a celebratory beer after a weapons certification at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy when a younger sheriff confronts him with a photograph of twenty-five armed men standing in front of a Challenger steam locomotive. It takes him back to when, fresh from the battlefields of Vietnam, then-deputy Walt accompanied his mentor Lucian to the annual Wyoming Sheriff's Association junket held on the excursion train known as the Western Star, which ran the length of Wyoming from Cheyenne to Evanston and back. Armed with his trusty Colt .45 and a paperback of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express, the young Walt was ill-prepared for the machinations of twenty-four veteran sheriffs, let alone the cavalcade of curious characters that accompanied them.

The photograph—along with an upcoming parole hearing for one of the most dangerous men Walt has encountered in a lifetime of law enforcement—hurtles the sheriff into a head-on collision of past and present, placing him and everyone he cares about squarely on the tracks of runaway revenge.
