I Need a Phone thats Just Like the Amazon Fire Phone...

Sadly this is true. It was built as a content tablet. Optimized for reading, listening. The backlighting is superior to any device I've owned. Most phones skimp on text rendering, The Fire Phone does not. My battery is good. I get 8 hours easy. I charge every other day. I've only had to factory reset twice.

Lately I've been reading a book and simultaneously listening to the audiobook. I forget what Amazon calls this feature. I remember trying it when it first became available but not seeing any benefit to me. I tried it again a few days ago and I'm enjoying it.

Anyway, with all this talk about the Fire Phone I decided to try it on that and avoid the drain on my regular phone. But I wasn't able to find a way to do that on the Fire Phone. Does anyone know if that's possible?

It may be that they stopped updating it before they got around to that feature and it can't do it. If so I'd like to know that too.

By the way the Fire Phone does have one very nice advantage over other phones: the Kindle app scrolls. I like reading with Moon+ mostly because it scrolls but on the Fire Phone the Kindle app scrolls, and I don't have to do anything but give the phone a slight tilt backwards to get it to scroll. They've done that very nicely.

The Fire phone has Always done Immersion reading. But you cant do it thru an app. & you Cant do it on Side loaded e-books. Amazon e-books must be purchased & you add audio thru Audible IF there is a match you are good to go.

According to the Help page on Audible, the Kindle app for both android and iOS support immersion reading.

And, a new Fire is only $50

Uh, most phones these days are at least 300ppi and IPS(so very very good viewing angles). The Motorola I suggested has 414ppi and an IPS screen. It also has 64GB of storage and has a microSD card slot so you can easily add more than double that.

For $99 the Fire Phone was a good deal, but time marches on and there's a lot of much much better phones out there now.

and i have not amazon store on my country and can not send to amazon

it will be expensive

I bought the book from Amazon and downloaded it into the Kindle app. When I did that on my Samsung phone the Kindle app indicated I could also download the audiobook, which I'd bought at the same time. I did and it let me do the immersion reading.

Wait! That's not quite true. The book was a Prime book. Could that be why it won't work on the Fire Phone? It works fine on my Samsung. I listened/read some more last night. The narrator is excellent and I'm really enjoying this. When I tried it out when the feature was new i couldn't see any point in it. Now I get it!

Newpower99 has replacement batteries for the Fire Phone. Here's a link:

They have a video showing how to do it on that page. I didn't watch so I have no idea how difficult it is. They do include the tools needed when you buy the battery.

I've never used Newpower99's batteries but they've been around a long time selling batteries and I've never heard anything bad about them. I have an older Paperwhite with a dying battery and I'm thinking of buying one from them but I haven't decided yet. I have newer Kindles.

Changing the battery is Harder that it looks Both of mine phones are Dead cause of trying to change them. Why I shopping for new phone

I just watched Newpower99's video on how to replace the battery. It looks to me like it's pretty straightforward. They provide all the tools you need with the battery. The only difficult part seemed to be removing the double sided tape holding the battery down but it doesn't matter if you screw that up since you throw it away anyway. It's not really needed.

You might want to watch that video and see if there's some help there getting your Fire Phone to work again.

hahahaha Not as easy as they make it look! I thing the Fire Phone is Designed to explode as soon as its open to the air, Just like some cancers! My son changed the 1st one the Screen went Plaid! I took the 2nd one to a Expert that change Hundreds of batteries... that on has a yellow/brown area with ripples coming off it! Over a $100 bucks down the drain & Nothing to show for it!

I tried to change my wife's 'non replacable" battery on her Verizon/Moto Droid Turbo, a phone she loved. The directions seemed quite do-able and all the tools I needed were supplied. The tools were cheap and brittle plastic that broke almost immediately, and a hair drier, needed to soften the adhesive used in the phone never got hot enough. So the paint stripper got TOO hot and melted the cover, a bit.

I pressed on, figuring I'd learn something for the NEXT time. I learned something, all right; I learned that the trade in value of a 3 year old phone with a functional but failing battery, is MUCH higher than than that of a phone with a new battery but which still doesn't work. Especially if the back cover is a bit "rippley".

I've decided that from now on, in an era where flagship phones near $1000 US, I simply won't spend more than $400 for a phone that will only last 3 years if we are lucky. I'm DONE with flagship phones.
