Errrm, well, okay, by linking to their site I indirectly linked to the pirate site they are linking to.

Should have thought of that... Sorry.

Yeah, we're big fans of Nate here on MR -- notice he is one of the site moderators (green hats) here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showgroups.php

No idea why goodereader gets such hate here on MR though, they're pretty much just run of the mill reviewer-types? I think they got a bit overexcited by this voyage 2 'scoop' and jumped to conclusions too quickly (conclusions which I'm willing to venture are probably right anyway...)
Because goodereader has a bad rap for never being right except by accident (so why bother paying attention to them?) -- plus a big scandal a few years ago.
Basically, goodereader was a pirate site, and was then banned for sockpuppeting here on MobileRead once criticisms were raised.

EDIT: Need to start reloading the page before submitting delayed posts.

Oh, my post suggesting to discourage news threads based on goodereader links wasn't an attack on you. More like a general suggestion.

I think personally that that particular market has been overtaken by tablets.
9.7" is a lot larger than 6". My guess is that 9.7" is just too larger for too many people. Also, the fact that Amazon didn't update the DX might also have had something to do with it's failure plus the high price.

A 6.8" Reader can be sold for a reasonable price and 6.8" seems to be the sweet spot for a larger screen Reader.

I know I do, but I also need buttons to change pages and the Voyage is the only current one that has them.

There you go, I was at least as reliable as Goodereader, and what's more, I had just as many information sources!

I particularly liked goodereaders proclamation "what I am most excited about is the increased performance in all aspects of the software"....

.... yes because a new processor is the only bit of possible 'news' in the article, everything else is a complete stab in the dark, and there isn't even very much of that other than nonsense about animated page turns!?!

I'm not sure a pure ereader like the Kindle or Kobo needs a more powerful CPU. The Android ereaders do, yes, but then again Android requires a lot more resources.

Frankly, a pure ereader spends a lot of time just sitting there doing nothing while you read the screen. That would leave enough time to finish resource-intensive tasks, wouldn't it?

I'd think that Kobo would have put a dual-core CPU in the Aura H2O if it were worthwhile. They could have marketed it as being twice as powerful as any other ereader on the market.

Amazon could have done the same with the Kindle Voyage.
