I remember the conversations, but I didn't realize you were moving forward with either option.
My main goal for this cycle has been this 'cloud' functionality. As I have mentioned several times, none of the CC improvements made in the last 4 to 8 months have any effect on new sales. They do improve current user satisfaction, but that doesn't do much to convince new users to shell out the money.

As for what I will build, I have tentatively decided to add it to CC. I have not yet decided whether it will be chargeable (IAP) or simply an improvement. If "improvement", I haven't yet decided yet whether to raise CC price.

I don't know what a "calibre server running in the cloud" is, so I won't be building support for that.

I will be looking at building an import from a calibre library either in the cloud or on the local device. The cloud part has some complications, as Amazon seems to have some unspecified rules about permitting listing apps with cloud support.

I am specifically not asking to reopen the discussion we had in the other thread. That played itself out, and it is now up to me to decide what to do.

Is there some way to display the format of the current book? If there some way to group by format?

I'm not asking for this feature if it doesn't exist. I just remember this being discussed, and I can't figure out how to do it.

Glancing at the code, that is a bog-standard information dialog box of a form used all over CC. I suspect there are at least 30 or 40 of them. This is a royal PITA.

The device is something different from an Onyx T68? EDIT: what version of android does it run?

My guess is that I can't do much about the problem because I can't see it. Releasing random changes to see if something has an effect is not time effective.

One other method. How about adding a Calibre Companion Plus at a higher price with the new functionality. It adds some future support burden for you, but it does give the people who you have been supporting with all these new features a chance to return the favor. That way you don't have to include IAP in the current app.

Sorry, I mean a Content Server running in a remote location.

You can add "formats" as a groupable field in settings.

That is already there. Enter the IP or URL of the content server into CC's settings.

This is a Boyue T62 which is the same as an Icarus Illumina E653 but more memory and bigger battery. This is what the T68 should have been. Everything is so much better on this device. I don't even have to use the arrows added for the T68 because the scrolling is smooth.

The last screen shot had Delete book in light blue which we know doesn't display in eink, but the Are you sure is black which should display. If it's too much don't worry about it. A lot of apps have missing text.

The T62 shows text that the T68 didn't and vice versa so all eink devices are probably different if you need more reason not to look into this. So far the T62 still wins in what text is shown for the most part.

I made some changed that might or might not help. I found and easy, albeit tedious, way to set the colors of the title and message text in dialog boxes. I forced the title to dark blue and the message to black. I suspect that the native styling for dialogs on the device had white text. CC specifies white background, so messages would disappear. In any event, we will see.
