Yes, I do remember doing that.

Anyhow, what I was saying was the when you connect your Clara HD to a computer, you should see the USB partition exposed as a disk drive. The best place to put your sideloaded books is in a directory created directly in that exposed partition and not inside any of the existing directories.

As far as I know, a true factory reset (manual or from the developer menu) has always wiped everything. The basic factory reset introduced in later firmware removes almost everything. A sign out/sign in removes personal information (pretty much the contents of the .kobo, .adobe-digital-editions, .kobo-images, and Digital Editions directories and does not do a complete wipe.

Got my Kobo plugged into the PC All I see are the ebooks I re-sideloaded as a list. This is only thru calibre.

When I signed back in all it asked was my Wi/fi information.

Selling may not be an option.

OK since I am not techy to do as you suggested. I going to invest in a flash drive to restore when the zap it again... ugh

Open Windows Explorer. It should be showing your Kobo ereader as a drive letter. Open that drive letter and browse for where your ebooks are stored.

In calibre, open Preferences and, in plugins, look for the KoboTouch and/or KoboTouchExtended driver. Open their configuration dialogs and look at what is currently in the Save Template box. You can copy/paste a copy into a reply in this thread.

I use Ebooks/{author_sort:sublist(0,1,&)}/{title} - {authors:sublist(0,1,&)} in that box. Basically, it says to use a directory called Ebooks in the root of the exposed partition and save using the first entry in the author sort for the subdirectory and then the epub files as title-first entry in the author list (the first entry stuff is to keep the filename length under control).

That may be part of the problem if you have all your ebooks in the root of the exposed partition. I would suggest changing the Save template to use a directory and store the ebooks inside that directory. See my example above as a suggestion.

Since you have recently had to restore all your books, I would suggest removing them from your Clara HD using the calibre GUI, change the save template in whichever driver you are using (or both the KoboTouch and the KoboTouchExtended drivers) and then resend them.
