The reason why I'm keen to duplicate this Kindle ecosystem feature on my Kobo is that sometimes I'd like to read a novel set in a particular place where I'm visiting and it often isn't clear from titles, so I find it useful to do a global search for books with the most mentions of such a place.

Start Elasticsearch from the bin directory (??)

Okay, so I have downloaded and extracted that, and I am told I need Elastic Search, which I have also downloaded. I need to "Start Elasticsearch from the bin directory" but I'm afraid I have no idea what that means. What should I do, please? (please be patient with my lack of technical know how compared to some of you experts...)

Thanks,
John

When you installed Elastic Search, it would have installed the executable to a directory such as \Program Files\Elastic\Elasticsearch\7.8.3\bin. The version number will vary. In that directory, you should find ElasticSearch.exe. When I did the install, I had it install as a Windows service so it automatically starts when I start my computer.

I’m on the 62nd book in my quest to read all of Wodehouse more or less in order, and there it was: The Code of the Woosters. (You’ll have found it already, of course, but it was a nice synchronicity for me.)

I have all four of the ereaders you mentioned above, and each in their own way are outstanding devices (my favorite of the 4 is the Forma), but none of them come close to answering the question of "best screen for reading". IMHO, that award goes to the Kindle Voyage, which is no longer in production unfortunately. Again, IMHO, it's the best ereader ever made (for my purposes anyway).

I agree about the screen of the Voyage. Still, I no longer use mine and will probably sell it. The ergonomics are poor (for me personally, I don't mean in general) and its 6'' screen is too small. I tried to read on my Voyage recently, but in the middle of the book I just sent it to my Oasis and finished it there. Couldn't stand the Voyage experience. The screen is important, but not the be-all and end-all to me.

I wish Amazon would come out with a "next generation" Voyage, increasing screen size to 7-8" and upping the internal storage to 32GB.

I think its screen would likely be similar to the Oasis in quality, not to the old Voyage. And with that there wouldn't be any other advantage to the large Voyage than the form factor, for those who prefer it. So it's doubtful Amazon will ever make such a device. But who knows.

I'd be interested if the screen was on a par with the old Voyage, otherwise not, as the form factor of the Oasis suits me better.
