If the bezel is "sanded" down , the warranty could end up being invalid.

Sudden "Designer " brainwave - use masking tape on the bezel.
Easy to remove, no nasties left behind, and at the cutting edge of fashion - have you seen a brown ereader yet ? And you could write on it, so saving all that note hassle.

See ? La mode is easy really.......

[And it's also not (quite) as silly as sanding down your new technological marvel.]

LOL I like it.

I'm expecting my PRS-T1 any day now. I think I have some green painter's masking tape lying around.

I am actually surprised nobody has mentioned it. It's either that or it is simple and everybody (but you and me) has it figured out. It would be helpful if somebody could answer how to check the battery level. I might start a thread if I don't get an answer in this one.

Careful with using the tape there boys. It'll leave icky residue on it. Glue + plastic = not so good. You can always use Goo Gone on it after but I don't think that'd be a good idea either. I use it to take price tags off items I'm reselling & it sometimes smears the printed ink on knitting patterns. I wouldn't want to see what it would do to the plastic casing on the Sony.

I have Dropbox set up as my Home Page on the T1, so I can download the compiled articles file for the day to the T1, as a separate book. Each article shows up as a link in the table of contents.

I also put an alias to my calibre library into Dropbox, so I can add any book I have to the T1 so long as I can find a wireless hotspot - like MacDonalds.
can't you just bookmark instapaper and download it directly from there?

It doesn't seem to work.

But anyway, I have other sources of material I want to get on my T1, and Dropbox gives me a place to gather them.

"Simply rub until you reach the desired level of glossyness. I would recommend putting some masking tape on the screen and buttons just in case you slip. If you are unsure and want to try it out, use one of the edges which also has the glossy surface. If it does not work to your liking, you only have a bit of edge that is hardly seen."

I actually did something similar to this a while ago and have a perfect matte finish to my reader. No worries about fingerprints.

You rub the bezel and you'll invalidate the warranty. If you want to do this, wait until the warranty is over.
