Well I just received an email from B&N saying my order was cancelled. Here's a quote from the email, "We apologize, but despite our efforts, we weren't able to fulfill some or all of the items in your order, as noted below. These items have been canceled from your order.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and look forward to your next visit to http://www.bn.com.
Thank you for shopping with us."

I'm a little peeved because if they ran out, then the website shouldn't have let me purchase one. If there website is faulty then they should honor the purchase either with a refurb or a new unit, IMO. This just seems like poor customer service. Oh well, I think maybe it's just a sign that I shouldn't purchase a nook right now.

It's a sign that you should buy a Kindle instead.

I would love to get a kindle if I could get library access on it. I like the actual keyboard(v. nooks virtual one), and I like that it doesn't have an lcd screen. My dream is to buy an eReader with e-ink screen or comparable, where it has access to most of the major formats(like Amazon's & B&N). The only eReader that I know of that does this is the jetbook. Unfortunately, it doesn't have an e-ink screen.

I figured this would happen when I saw the "out of stock" on my order. At least I didn't get my hopes up.

Just picked up a refurb nook w/wifi and 3g for $99 on buy.com this morning. They were sold out by the time I got to work.
