I'm sure they meant "sage" as in "wise", but every time I see the word "sage" the first thing that pops into my mind is the herb

Those are really interesting photos. I'm not very sensitive to or perceptive of screen color differences, but even to me that first one was VERY green. That interests me because none of the video reviews have shown anything even close to that color on the Sage. Is it possible yours is another example Kobo's imaginary QC at work?

It's possible, of course, but I guess it also depends on the levels of the ambient light and the device light. It's not that noticeable in a brightly lit room. And if even a tiny bit of warmth is on, the green color will disappear.

My Sage screen is also greenish but not as bad as the Libra H2O and can't see it anymore after setting a bit of front light / warmth

Yeah, the warm light kills it. My Sage is actually greener than my Libra 1, which was already pretty green. But as I said, it's only noticeable in certain conditions (dark room, no warmth etc.).

If your Sage is less green than your Libra, that's great because to my eyes, my Libra with all lighting off is not green at all. It's a dull gray. I wondered why Kobo's new reader was the first in many, many years to have a name that did not end in "a" - now it seems that, for some at least, the name was an indicator of the screen color.

With the light off, they're all gray. The green color is visible when the frontlight is up and there is very little ambient light.

Ah, that explains why for me it ain't easy seeing green. I don't read in the dark, or dimly lit.

Neither do I, but when I get a new reader, I always look at it in a dark bathroom, just from curiosity.

Well, that might explain why I never saw a green tint on my Sage: all my rooms have windows, and even with curtains the city lights mean it would only be dark if there was a general electricity failure. A consequence of privileging light (and quiet).

Likewise. Our bathroom also gets light from the neighbors over the fence, so when my Sage does arrive later today, I'll have nowhere dark enough to look for the green
