I am torn on whether I should cancel the blue and order a black. I can get a blue poetic graphgrip case for it, after all. I love the graphgrip on my Nexus 7.

I have to say so far my favorite feature of the new Fire is the Backup and Restore. This is going to be very useful in those times when I need to do a factory reset. I just wish I knew where they were saving them.

And my least favorite is the Collections maintenance. Adding/Changing where the book resides in a collection is quite cumbersome. Guess I will be sticking to my PW2 to manage my collections.

Overall I am glad I updated from my 2012. The max sound on this is not very loud but that is ok because I am used to using my speaker anyway so it is all good.

Now I just need to keep myself from wavering back and forth between covers.

I did it. I cancelled the blue and ordered the black. Was able to use up my points and get it for $85. It'll be here Weds!

Thanks - and yes I have seen the case and I saw the Amazon entry too. The problem is, Poetic doesn't list it under either the HD 6 page or the Revolution page. Since this is sold by some outfit named Smart Shop Online, I'm inclined to believe it doesn't exist.

I've already contacted Poetic asking if they'd make this case for the HD 6, but so far, I haven't heard back from them. This is the type of case I'm looking for. Fingers crossed.

edit: is the ad real or a mistake?

For anyone interested in using some of the Google apps on the Fire HD 6, I was able to get some of them working using the method to add your Google account listed on Android Cowboy which worked on my 8.9 in the past. Then I used 1mobile to install the latest versions of the Google apps I needed, but sideloading them from another android device would probably work. Google Drive, Play Newstand, Books, Music, Movies & TV work fine for me with no issues. I'm even happier with this device now than I was since I can use the content that I have with Google on it.

Within the past couple of weeks, I bought a Poetic Slimline case from Smart Shop Online through Amazon. I've got another Slimline case and the new one is clearly the real thing.

Yes, but as the Audible apps don't use them, they are not as useful as they might be. I do most of my listening with the Audible apps. Note that you can mix ebooks, audible, magazine issues in the same collection, while apps collections are independent of these. I haven't found any need for Apps collections as yet.

I bought all my cases from them it's legit. They always have the cases first and usually the better prices.

If they worked well I would find the Audible collections useful because I listen to my Immersive combos on my Fire, so having them in the collection would make it a little easier for me to find what I am looking for more quickly. Unfortunately Amazon keeps removing them and resyncing them. I do not know why. I haven't figured out if it is because it is resycing for changes or something else. If that is the case it is going to be a major pain in the arse in the long run because I have over 5000 books (lots of free ones and borrows from overdrive), over 700 audibles and over 100 collections. That is a lot to have to keep resyncing over and over. I wish Amazon would only resync the ones that have changed instead of all of them every time, which is less than 10 of them daily. Yes I change them that often...

Other than the book collections I find the app collections the most useful because I can group then and not have to scroll through my entire list of apps to find the ones I am looking for. Needless to say I have a lot of apps because I have been getting the interesting free app of the day since Amazon introduced them.

That case is exactly what I'm looking for, but it isn't available until mid-Nov. No big deal since I'm waiting until Black Friday before making a final decision on buying the HD 6. In the mean time, I'll visit a Best Buy so I can play with one.

I don't know if this has been mentioned. Best Buy has a promo to trade in any tablet for a minimum $50 gift card toward purchase of new Fires. I just traded in 2 old tablets and got the Fire 6 16 gb for $19 difference. Not good on ereaders or Nooks. Promo is good until Oct. 11.

Woohoo!

I got the $50 gift card for my 1st gen Fire, which I never liked anyway. (And BB generally just gives you $3 for one of these if you trade it in!!!) Canceled my pre-order at Amazon for the pink 6-incher and ordered at BB. I'll have to wait a bit longer, but it's worth it.

Just as an aside, no 6" Fires in stock at my BB, so I wouldn't have been able to do the instant gratification thing even if I'd wanted to.
