In NYC, it used to be that if you saw a chap talking animatedly and looking at something you couldn't see, you assumed it was one of the many homeless crazy people. Now it may still be a homeless crazy person, but they probably have a cell phone.

I've done cable runs, for electricity, telecom, and data. It requires skill, and often creativity.

Tying into a different thread thread, an old friend was an electrician. He stopped by for a visit when we had made fresh bean stew, and happily devoured several bowls. He reported later "It worked great!. By the time I got to the job site, I was cutting some real rotten eggs! The foreman just said 'You go pull wire down at the other end of the hall!', and he didn't bother me all day!"

right now sitting with Arwen on my lap. she has just discovered the laptop and that things move on it. she has never sat this long quietly on my lap before. normally she is full speed ahead or passed out

Actually, my office neighbor came in this morning talking about hedgehogs. Told me the technique used when X-raying one. (He spends waaayyyy more on his pets than I can afford to). I guess the quills show up sorta like bones in an X-ray, and you need to move them out of the way.

You apparently brush all the quills up & center, like a mohawk. And secure them there with a beautician's hair clip. The hedgehog is anesthetized, otherwise he would object to this indignity.
