Basically, in Windows 7 you want to put all your datafiles in your home folder. They already get you started with a Documents/Folders/Pictures folders already linked to the libraries. (although I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of the libraries, but they can be useful for some people.) BOb |

Speaking of new toys....
UPS brought my new poker chips today. Yes, I finally made a decision. I spent a bit more than I originally thought I would, but actually within my expected budget... way outside my wife's budget. ![]() Glad I bought the better ones.... they are great and feel and stack just like the chips I am used to using when I go to Vegas. Now, the question is, do I spend another $25 to get customized labels for them with a nice choo-choo train design to go with the 18xx games I plan to use them for. Or, just keep them nekid? BOb |

![]() There's a folder called "Home"? I don't recall seeing that. I've loaded some files in the different media libraries, but I'm still so used to XP that I'm not comfortable with anything to do with files/folders yet. |

When you open Explorer all the little shortcuts on the left from libraries and up are folders that are in your "home" folder. What annoys me a bit about Win7 is that there is no link right to your "home" folder. (OS X always make the users home folder a favorite in finder). I usually add it as a favorite in Win7. You can do that by dragging your home folder from the C drive to the left panel above the libraires. It will create a shortcut/favorite there for you. This will give you quick access to your home folder. For example, in my "home" folder I have a folder named "development" where all of the software projects I work on are stored. I have a folder named f@h where I put the folding at home client I run. I have my Dropbox (folder) in my "home" folder. I have my calibre library in my "home" folder. (Well actually it is in my dropbox)/ The main reason to use your home folder for stuff like this is because you have full permissions to it. If someone else logs into your PC... perhaps you share it with someone, a spouse or child for example, they would not have access to your home folder. (Unless of course they have an administrator account, but no one [normal users that is] should run Win7 as administrator any more.) BOb |

It might be called "yourlastname" or whatever you log in as (maybe "yourfirstname"). If you don't find "home", try that.
sez a mac person edit: see, what he said. we both clicked OK at the same time. He must've started earlier, cuz his is longer and more complete. ![]() |

just ordered beans for the winter. if you have never tried ANASAZI BEANS, and like legumes, you owe to yourself to try them out. they cook MUCH quicker than regular pintos, are very tender, have a lot of flavor and do not cause the amount of gas that a lot of people suffer from when eating many legumes.
yummmmm! winter food! |

nope! I've used these for many many years and with some typically gassy people (like my boy child). these are non gaseous beans! and like I said very very good. using that page and ordering them is still under the price that you can get them at any store I've seen

they are VERY good! just remember that as they are much more tender than regular beans, they do not need as much cooking time!
