I lerve beans. But I don't think we get ananzi (spelling?) here.

Do they come dried?

I make a yummy bean soup, using borlotti, cannellini, red kidney, those big white ones (fava? lima?) All dried beans you soak first.

But alas winter is over and it really is a thing for cold nights.

yes, that is the only way they come. they are what is known as a "heritage" bean. they had died out, and no one knew anything of them. during excavations of some ruins they were found in some pottery. they were then carefully planted and voi-la!
and they are a quite lovely bean as well!
