You only get a rebate when you pay with credit card so you wouldn't get a rebate on the second purchase.

Almost. You only get the 100% rebate when paying with paypal or credit card.

So:

Buy Fellowship & Towers using TAXDAY code for 15% off, and you'll pay $25.48 which will instantly appear in your micropay account.

Then buy Return and Hobbit using TAXDAY and your micropay. You should even have some micropay left over.

I had 0.34$ of micropay bonus yesterday (for a 0.99$ book) when I paid with my micropay :S (maybe a bug)

Generally speaking, rebates of 35% and less apply to all payment methods, including micropay while rebates of more than 35% are Paypal/Credit card only.

Tempted to pick these up as I just have paperback editions. But I think I'd rather just pick up nice hardcover illustrated version when I get the itch to read again since these are some of the few books I've re-read and I'd like to have a nice physical copy of them.

If you want an omnibus edition of LotR, this anniversary ed. with illustrations by Alan Lee is lovely (pricey, but lovely). If you are a fan of the Peter Jackson films, you will get to see some of the inspiration for the film version of Middle-earth in the artwork.

I have 4 versions of LotR in paper now (50th anniversary, 3 book softcover, omnibus softcover, leatherbound) and I was *still* happy to pay for a legal ebook version!

I have been looking at this one - Folio Society ed. - though I'd like to see a few more examples of the artwork before paying that much money

I'm a big Alan Lee fan, so for me it was a no-brainer. The art in the AL edition is also color, which makes a great deal of difference to me.

(Plus I prefer the omnibus.)

It seems that I can't open The Children of Húrin ePub, bought from Books on Board. ADE throws error box and then refuses to open it :-(
I believe that's because the archive is corrupted.
Anybody encountered similar problem?

It'd be nice, wouldn't it? ePub is an attempt to do that, but time will tell if it actually happens.
